ANA WERREN

GUATEMALA CITY, 1986.

Ana Werren is a visual artist whose work moves between photography, sculpture and object intervention, using each language as a means to leave a record of her explorations and discoveries. Her work focuses on the materiality of memory and the movement of matter, seeking to activate and reveal the latent traces in the objects and spaces that surround her.

Through her works, Ana explores the fluidity of memory, allowing multiple readings of time and interpellating the layers it leaves behind. Each piece becomes an exercise in dialogue between the elements that inhabit the spaces and their histories. By approaching objects as beings that safeguard memory and history, Ana discovers the dialogues and marks that they preserve, even if they are not always evident.

Starting from a personal search on the limits of the individual and the collective, Ana unfolds her work in a joint construction with the memory of matter and spaces, adding new layers and textures that enrich the common language of her work. Thus, her interventions reveal new ways of understanding the corporeality of memory, allowing the elements to interact and transform themselves into a space of encounter between past and present.
