Fredy Rangel in El Primer Paso

El Primer Paso: [Admitimos nuestra impotencia ante la realidad]. / The First Step: [We admit our impotence before reality].

For this group exhibition, El Programa works through Galería Extra to present Guatemalan artist Fredy Rangel (1977). Rangel’s practice evolves from specific projects related to the local context of Guatemala City. By working across various mediums, such as drawing, painting, and photography, Rangel addresses themes within anthropology, psychology, politics, and culture, with a particular interest on dissecting the relationship between place, the self, and the collective.

El Primer Paso is open to the public from september 7 to october 19 at El Programa (5ta. avenida 11-16 zona 1, Edificio Passarelli, Guatemala City).
