Fredy Rangel: La Esfera de las Promesas

The MUSAC proudly presents the exhibition “La Esfera de las Promesas”, featuring works by artist Fredy Rangel .

The exhibition “La Esfera de las Promesas” connects historical objects and knowledge, forming a set of abstract symbols within a visual language. This artistic narrative reinterprets utopian concepts, as well as the social and political limitations that shaped Dr. Mariano Gálvez’s aspirations to create a modern Guatemala.

It proposes a critical and innovative narrative that invites visitors to reflect on the legacy of Dr. Mariano Gálvez—a historical figure and symbol of dialogue between the past and present—using art as a tool. The exhibition will serve as a space for active reflection, inspiring new perspectives on Guatemala’s history and its relevance in today’s world. (MUSAC Guatemala, 2025)

La Esfera de las Promesas will be on view at the Museo de la Universidad de San Carlos (9 ave 9-79 zona 1) from February 21st to May 15th 2025.
