Adán Vallecillo in Critical Landscapes: Selected Works from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection

The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver presents their summer exhibit, su exhibición de verano, Critical Landscapes: Selected Works from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection. “MCA Denver is excited to feature an incredible group of artists, who are among the most insightful and important voices emerging from Latin America today,” said Nora Burnett Abrams, MCA Denver Mark G. Falcone Director. “With a number of works engaging with the intricate ideas and landscapes of Ecuador, Cuba and Brazil, these artists' works are deeply embedded in the specificities of their environment. In many instances, they are probing the ways in which natural resources are both celebrated and extracted, revered and commercialized in their specific contexts.” The selection of works also intends to engage with MCA’s concurrent exhibition, Gala Porras-Kim: A Hand in Nature, both directly and indirectly, offering additional and wide-ranging examples of how artists are working with the natural world, using it as material, inspiration and subject matter.”

Adán Vallecillo participates with two works, Topografías I and Filograma, both part of the CIFO collection.

Critical Landscapes is open to the public until September 1st at the MCA Denver (1485 Delgany St., Denver, CO 80202)
